VICAR - REVEREND LINDA LIVERSIDGE

Born and bred in London - a true cockney. My parents were both 'believers' but I grew up with confusing messages about faith. My mother was Roman Catholic and my father attended any and all sorts of church as long as it wasn't RC! Fortunately I eventually discovered the Bible and a personal faith in Jesus. Initially I trained with Boots as a dispensing chemist, later doing a spell of dispensing the 'hard stuff' as a part-time barmaid before becoming an A-level chemistry technician. I've been very involved with church based youth work all of my Christian life and also some 'detached' youth work. I am a CYFA Venture camp leader (did my 34th camp this year). I trained for ordination at Oak Hill, served my curacy in Kensal Rise (both North London) before moving to the North Wingfield Team in 2001. I often find myself wondering what an earth I'm doing in Derbyshire and frequently miss cockles and jellied eels. On the other hand the scenery is much better up here!

My family are very important to me, I'm married to Alan who spends most of his time keeping our enormous garden under control and finding fun things for the men's group to do. We have 3 children, Daniel, Susan (both married) and Katie who all very musical. They live in North London and we miss them loads and even more our four grandsons, Thomas (7), William (5), Miles (3) and Oliver (2).

Favourite things in my life are first and foremost the grandchildren. After that - Apple Macs, Radio 4 (especially the Archers), Alan Bennett and poetry. U2's not bad either! Working with teenagers, and sharing the gospel with them, is still something I really love doing.
