ALPHA

ALPHA offers the opportunity to explore the meaning of life.

The Alpha Course is a fifteen-session programme that runs over ten weeks to provide a practical introduction to the Christian faith.

SMALL GROUPS

At St. Bartholomew's we believe that "Church" is best experienced in a small group and so great emphasis is placed on this particular aspect of our church's life.

What is a Small Group?
A 'small group' is simply a bunch of like-minded people who meet together, usually in someone's home, to encourage deeper faith.

What happens in a Small Group? ,
Each small group is different, responding to the individual needs of the group's members but each will..

LOVE ~ The majority of our church's day-to-day caring for one another happens in our Small Groups.
LEARN ~ We study the Bible and learn what it says to us today.
SERVE ~ The Christian faith is not just about believing: it's also about doing. Through our Small Groups we seek to serve the wider community.
REACH ~ Something as good as the Christian faith is too good to keep to one's self. Small Groups share in the Church's task of telling others about God's love.

BELL RINGING

St. Bartholomew's boasts a peal of six bells that can be heard across Clay Cross.

Why not consider helping 'call people to worship' before our main services? Ringers practice night 7.15 - 8.30pm Friday nights

ST. BARTHOLOMEW’S SINGERS

Increasingly music at St. Bartholomew's is adopting a more contemporary feel. However if modern church music is not your thing then fear not! St. Bartholomew's Singers are a choir who enjoy more a classical repertoire.

They meet weekly on Tuesday mornings. The group meets primarily for friendship however they offer performances about three times a year as well as occasional contributions to Sunday worship.

MEN’S GROUP

Being part of a Church can sometimes be thought of, as 'something for the wife'. We believe very strongly that the Church belongs to men as well! The Church's Men's Group meets for a social evenings based around various different activities and interests. Recent outings include nights out at the curry house, snooker evenings, dog racing & a domino & darts night.

The Men's Group usually meets on a Friday evening. Everyone is very welcome: members do not have to be a part of the church family to enjoy a good night out with us.
