ST BARTHOLOMEW'S CHURCH

"St. Bartholomew's is for everyone who lives and works in Clay Cross, not just for those who choose to attend services.  So whether you are committed to the Faith of Jesus Christ or just curious, please feel able to come along.  We offer many more activities (social and spiritual) than those mentioned in this site. To find out about them, do contact us."

St Bartholomew's Church is:

 An ANGLICAN Church
As an Anglican Church we are committed to service and ministry to our community as well as our membership. We have a full involvement in the life of the Diocese of Derby and Deanery of Chesterfield. Our members serve in various aspects of ministry throughout the Diocese. Our financial commitment through our Parish Share supports mission and ministry in other parts of the region and we see this as part of our calling.

 An EVANGELICAL Church
By this we mean mainly two things. Firstly we are committed to the Bible as an authoritative guide in all that we believe and in all that we do. Secondly, we see the need for individuals to come into a personal relationship with Jesus for themselves.

 A TEAM Church
As a Team Church we seek to work together with other churches in the area. We are part of a 'formal" Team, called the 'North Wingfield Parish Team Ministry'. This includes four other local Anglican Churches in the area. Within this team we work especially closely with our partner church, St. Barnabas' Church, Danesmoor.

See North Wingfield Team Ministry Web Site

Within the team ministry we seek to support one another's work and encourage each other through prayer, the sharing of resources, and joint acts of worship. We also work ecumenically with other local Christian Churches. This happens primarily through playing a full role in the 'Christians in Clay Cross' organisation.

 A CHARISMATIC Church
This means we are open to God's Holy Spirit working amongst us and through us as He pleases.
